Tattooing has been around for centuries, but it was the golden era of American traditional tattooing that created some of the most iconic designs. During the 1930s and 1940s, sailors, servicemen, outlaws, and other men of all walks of life proudly adorned their bodies with these bold, colorful tattoos. After the war, the popularity of these designs declined and the craft of tattooing went into a bit of a decline as well.
