Tattoos And Beer: The Traditional Connection

Tattoos and beer have a deep-seated and longstanding connection in many cultures. As far back as ancient Greece and Rome, tattoos were associated with the consumption of beer and other alcoholic beverages, as well as being a sign of strength and virility. In fact, the term ‘tattoo’ is derived from the Polynesian ‘ta’ meaning ‘to strike’ and ‘tau’ meaning ‘mark’. In other words, the act of getting a tattoo was a physical demonstration of strength and power.
